After graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a BBA in Finance and Economics from the University of Houston, Laith Daik went on to employ his degree in residential and commercial finance. Finding an immediate calling in real estate finance, he now maintains an active real estate license and is a spirited member of many professional associations throughout Texas, including the Mortgage Bankers Association, Texas Mortgage Banker’s Association, Houston Apartment Association, National Association of Realtors, Houston Heights Association, Heights Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau where Laith also serves on the Audit/Finance Committee. Laith manages all aspects of business development for both the commercial and residential mortgage banking loan departments of Texas Loan Star, Inc. as President amid successfully upholding client, investor, and bank relations. In addition to his presidential duties Laith is an active real estate investor managing an income property portfolio consisting primarily of multi-family properties. Laith upholds a productive and effective work environment while managing to create and foster a family-like camaraderie among his employees. Happily married to Jodie Daik for 15 years and counting, Laith’s efficacy and dedication extends beyond the family here at Texas Loan Star, Inc. and into his loving home where he and Jodie raise and nurture their three beautiful daughters Josephine, Cameron and Channing.

Ben Robichaux entered the mortgage industry in the fall of 2006 as a Loan Officer with Texas Loan Star and served in that capacity until March of 2010. He rejoined Texas Loan Star as VP of Operations in November 2010 and relocated permanently to Houston. Ben now serves as Sr. Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer. Utilizing over 10 years business ownership experience, Ben oversees all departments and makes every effort to ensure a smooth operation. Originally from New Orleans, Ben returned to Louisiana after selling his business in Nashville, Tennessee where he attended Belmont University and met Angela, his wife of over 13 years while she was obtaining her Masters from Vanderbilt University. Ben is a tennis and gardening enthusiast and enjoys traveling with his wife.
Amanda L. Garrett, began her career in the mortgage industry in 2002 and joined Texas Loan Star in 2007. Her skills evident, Amanda was quickly promoted to Closing Coordinator and now VP of Accounting and Human Resources. In addition to outstanding customer service skills, Amanda’s attention to detail and organizational skills have enabled Amanda to provide Texas Loan Star and our customers’ excellent processes that have resulted in efficient and hassle free closings. Amanda oversees the mortgage banking operation including pre-closing, closing, funding and post-funding responsibilities as well as the company Human Resource department. Born and raised in Rhode Island, Amanda now considers herself a Texan. She relocated to Houston in 2007 with her husband Frank Garrett. Amanda enjoys spending time outdoors with Frank, their American Bull Dog JellyBean and their Boxer Danger.
Lisa Stoever joined Texas Loan Star as a processor in May of 2008; after serving as our Sr. Processor she now heads our Processing/Underwriting department. Lisa graduated from Texas A & M University and has been in the mortgage industry since 1994. She has held several positions during her career such as loan officer, processor, underwriter and regional credit officer. With Lisa’s knowledge and experience she’s the perfect person to head our Processing/Underwriting Department. Lisa’s strengths enable our Texas Loan Star to thrive in an industry of constant change.
Halley Spencer is an accomplished Residential Mortgage Loan Originator with many years of experience since joining Texas Loan Star in 2002. He is a Houston Heights native that graduated from Waltrip High School prior to playing football for the University of Houston. Halley and his beautiful wife Jennifer are the proud parents of three amazing children. In his spare time, Halley enjoys time with his family, golf and college football.

Susan joined Texas Loan Star in June 2016. She brings more than 15 years of experience in the mortgage industry to the team with extensive experience in management, operations and accounting. Outside of the office, Susan enjoys spending time with her children, cooking, shopping and volunteering.
Arwen Huckabay began her career in the mortgage industry by joining Texas Loan Star in 2008. She quickly moved her way through the ranks to become a processor. After a brief absence, she returned to Texas Loan Star in the fall of 2015 as a Sr. Processor and now has become a Closing Coordinator.
Katelynn joined the TLS team in March of 2012. She started as receptionist, worked as a junior processor, became a closing coordinator and is now the Manager of the Closing Department. With several years of experience under her belt you can expect a professional level of customer service. She has already established herself as a valuable part of the team and intends to continue her growth within the Texas Loan Star family. Outside of the office Katelynn enjoys boating on lakes, riding dirt bikes and shopping. Above all, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her husband Joshua and son, Trenton.
Chris Kwok joined Texas Loan Star in June of 2016 as a closing coordinator. Chris entered the mortgage industry in April 2012. With a background in loan processing and customer service, Chris is intending to learn and grow within Texas Loan Star. Chris loves cooking, running, dancing, drawing, playing guitar, and spending time with his family.
After having to live overseas for a few years, Art Navarro returned to Houston to finish his education. He went on to graduate magna cum laude from the University of Houston with a BBA in Finance in 2014. He then joined Texas Loan Star in 2015. His eagerness to learn everything about the mortgage industry has led him to becoming a valuable asset to the team, and he looks forward to growing with the company. When not at work you will probably find him at a Rockets, Texans, or Astros game.
Shantill Salas is a Residential Mortgage Loan Originator who specializes in investor purchase money. As an investor herself she is very knowledgeable on the loan programs available and can help to expand your rental portfolio and build the nest egg you always wanted. As a mother of 5 she is very focused on your needs and can give the personal touch that you look for in a loan officer. She enjoys spending time with her husband and children on the weekends and if there is any time left she is looking at property for new investment opportunities.
Mike "Mortgage Mike" Pitassi has been a Residential Mortgage Loan Originator for more than 13 years. He joined Texas Loan Star in August 2010. Mike‘s expertise as a Loan Officer has allowed him the opportunity to help many people successfully get the loan that fits their specific needs. Although originally from the northwest, Mike has lived in Texas for 10 years now and feels it is his home. When he isn’t working, Mike enjoys spending time with his two wonderful children, playing basketball, swimming, and biking. A former music teacher, he also plays the saxophone and writes music.
Hayley originally joined the Texas Loan Star team in 2009, as an intern while in high school. After high school, she attended Texas A&M University and graduated from the University of Houston in May 2016. Hayley rejoined Texas Loan Star in 2012 as a Junior Processor, and began the role of a Loan Originator Apprentice in March 2013, eventually getting her Residential Mortgage Loan Originator license in October that same year. Hayley’s education and experience working with Texas Loan Star, Inc. loan applicants will continue to be an asset to our organization.
Spencer Glen Robinson
Spencer Robinson recently joined Texas Loan Star as a Loan Originator Apprentice in March of 2013 and received his Residential Mortgage Loan Originator license in December of the same year. Although new to the mortgage industry, Spencer’s background in consulting brings unparalleled customer service and problem solving. In addition to playing rugby for St. Edward’s University, he received a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. In his spare time, Spencer enjoys playing music and spending time outdoors.
Shylah Gaines is a native Houstonian and joined the team in May 2016. She is new to the mortgage industry this year but has a large background in real estate property management and sales. She is a fightin’ Texas Aggie and majored in Marketing. Shylah’s attention to detail and real estate background is really helping her excel quickly at TLS. She provides excellent customer service to our customers and overall makes the process as easy as possible. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, Derek and their two dogs, Rolo and Dani.
Emily recently joined Texas Loan Star as a processor in August of 2016. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in accounting and began her career in the mortgage industry in 2012. Emily has held several positions including business development/marketing, LO, and processor. Emily is excelling quickly here at TLS, and hopes to bring the best service possible to her customers. In her spare time she loves biking, running, spending time at her beach house and being with her dog, Bella.
Gordon has varied experience in the mortgage industry, having started in 2004 and working primarily on the default servicing side until getting his first immersive experience in origination’s as a processor at Texas Loan Star. He’s also had a short stint as a residential construction superintendent, so he has experienced most facets of the housing industry. A native of west Texas, Gordon received a Bachelor’s in Marketing from the University of Texas at Arlington and is new to the Houston area. When vacation time allows, he loves domestic and foreign travel, with Paris, Mexico City, Colorado, and New Orleans being repeat favorites. He has also written, illustrated, and published several children’s books that also pertain to travel, along with a few cookbooks, fiction works, and travel guides. When he’s not travelling or writing, Gordon enjoys hanging out with friends and family, bowling, museum-hopping, and exploring his new home town.
Veronica is a graduate of the University of Houston – Downtown with a BA in Business Administration. She began her interest in the Mortgage industry while in college and continued to pursue it after graduation. Veronica has been part of the industry for 6 years. She started as a Loan Processor Assistant and her keen sense of detail and organizational skills has helped her excel in different roles since then. Today she is a Loan Processor who joined the Texas Loan Star family in 2017. She caters to her clients while steadily bringing them excellent customer service.
Sylvia Gonzalez joined the Texas Loan Star Team as a Junior Processor in August 2010. Sylvia has brought years of customer service experience with her. This has helped her facilitate hundreds of loans with Texas Loan Star. She exemplifies a cooperative positive attitude and great work ethic that makes her an integral part of our team. She attended the University of Houston and Houston Community College. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially her husband and two pre-school sons.
Kyle joined the Texas Loan Star team as a Sales Assistant in June of 2016. Prior to joining our team Kyle was in residential property management where she gained excellent customer service and administrative skills. Kyle went to Texas A&M University where she graduated cum laude in Leadership and Development. She is excited to grow and learn all there is to know in the mortgage industry. Outside of the office she loves to workout, hangout with her family, and spend time with her husband.
Kody Shogren joined Texas Loan Star in August of 2016 as a Sales Assistant. Before joining our team, Kody interned at DHI Mortgage where he was first introduced into the mortgage industry. Kody went to school at Stephen F. Austin State University where he graduated with a Bachelors in Marketing. He was also an active member of Sigma Nu fraternity as well as American Marketing Association. He looks forward to learning all he can and growing with the company. In Kody’s free time he likes to fish on the Galveston Bay, play racquetball and spend time with his family and girlfriend.
Jessica, a native Houstonian, joined our team in November 2015. She brings with her a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Baylor University, with a background in customer service and sales. She looks forward to learning all that she can about the mortgage lending business to help her in her role as marketing associate for Texas Loan Star. Jessica enjoys traveling, team sports, and spending time with friends and family.
Megan, a native Houstonian, joined our team in May 2017. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Fashion Merchandising from Sam Houston State University, with a diverse background in customer service/purchasing and sales. She is excited to learn all about the mortgage industry to become a valuable team member. Outside the office Megan enjoys blogging on her fashion blog, traveling, spending time with her husband, family and dog Carter.
Flynn was born July 13, 2015 in Cologne, Germany. He was flown to America around eight weeks old and landed in Locust Grove, Georgia at the Kennels von Lotta. Before arriving in America, his name was Nils Von Tronje, from a prestigious German shepherd bloodline, but became Flynn Daik when he was united with his new family in Houston at the beginning of October 2015. Since playing with his ball is one of his favorite activities, Flynn is rarely seen without his favorite toy, even when he is enjoying his raw diet of meats and his favorite treat, apples. He has become a day to day figure at the office and has earned his title as mascot for Texas Loan Star. Since becoming the mascot, Flynn’s favorite trick around the office is to open doors to be with his owner Laith or to hang out with fellow employees. Flynn is such a sweet, smart and loyal dog. Everyone at the office loves him and is so happy that he is the mascot for Texas Loan Star!
